All White Edit

La-Doyenne-White-Style-Edit

Is there anything that looks more refined than an all-white edit?

I think not. White is one of those clean-cut tones that I just can’t get enough of, and whilst it is a great tone to wear in a casual outfit, there’s some beautiful stand-out pieces too. Here’s three ways that can add a splash of white to your wardrobe.

Top it Off

Whilst the canvas of a white top may feel a little dull, white actually gives pieces an opportunity to pull off unique cuts and bold details that would otherwise look too much on other palettes.

Check out the ruffle details on this blouse,  and whilst the embroideries on the chest and sleeves of this shirt may feel a little extra, against the white backdrop you’re left with a top that is subtle and feminine.

Bag it Up

White bags can often look cheap and tacky, but I find a solid structure or unusual detailing can help a white bag level up from tacky to terrific. Those of you who are consistently on the go will appreciate the clean-cut lines and versatility of this rains rucksack. Those of you who prefer something a little less practical, this saddle bag has all the makings of a great structured white bag, and whilst this Georgia tote may err on the side of grey – it’s vegan and has enough texture to make it slide to the top of my lust list.

Dress Down

When all else fails, a detailed white dress is the one. Whilst it can be tricky to find pieces that strike the right balance between elaborate and cheap, the good news is there’s plenty of brands out there that have managed to get it right. If you’re feeling bold, this flirty, form-fitting option from SilkFred is everything you could ask for in a white dress. For those who love an empire line with a cleaner cut, & Other Stories have mastered white dress chic with this beauty – I love their use of geometric angular cuts and ribbon lace trimming.
